Bree Moot 4/Mythcon XXX

Held 5 times from 1994-2001, Bree Moot was a mid-west U.S. gathering -- sponsored by the J.R.R. Tolkien fan magazine, "Beyond Bree" -- that provided an opportunity for their widely scattered subscribers to gather in person for social and academic events. 1 2

Held annually in the summer months beginning in 1970, the Annual Mythopoeic Conference, also known as Mythcon, is sponsored by the Mythopoeic Society in various locations, primarily in the U.S. but occasionally in Canada or England. It also provides an opportunity for widely scattered members to meet and to present and discuss papers. 3 4

In 1999, Bree Moot 4 combined with Mythcon XXX in Milwaukee, WI. 5 TORn did not attend in any official capacity but TORn posted reports of three people who did in a private capacity, including staffer Corvar, and chatroom regular, Balin.

Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo | Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2)

First held in 2010, the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, also known as C2E2, is a convention focused on the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga, and video games.
TORn's first year of participation was 2012.

New Zealand National Science Fiction Convention (NatCon) | Cond'or

The New Zealand National Science Fiction Convention is generally a yearly event held over the weekend of either Easter or the Queen's Birthday. The event is planned and run by a different committee each year with a different name. At the June 2000 convention in Wellington, called Cond'or, Tehanu presented information and held a Q&A about the upcoming LOTR movies and also about TORn and net journalism in general.


Dragon*Con, held in Atlanta, GA, is a multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film.
TORn has been involved in Dragon*Con since 2000.

Eastern LOTR Fan Gathering (ELF)

TORn teamed up with Creation Entertainment to present The One Ring Celebration (ORC) in 2005 and 2006.

Imagine Con

Imagine Con was a fantasy, science fiction, horror, comic, and toy fair convention held in 1999 and in 2000 in Virginia Beach Va.
TORn was involved in 1999 & 2000.

New York Comic Con (NYCC)

The New York Comic Con, sometimes referred to as NYCC, is an annual New York City fan convention dedicated to comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television. The first event was held in 2006.
TORn reported on the 2007 & 2008 NYCC and has participated in it since 2009.

One Ring Celebration (ORC)

TORn teamed up with Creation Entertainment to present The One Ring Celebration (ORC) in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC)

San Diego Comic-Con is a four-day event showcasing comic books, science fiction/fantasy, and film/television.


WonderCon is an annual comic book, science fiction, and motion picture convention, held in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1987.
TORn's first year of participation was 2012.

World Science Fiction Convention (WorldCon)

The World Science Fiction Convention (WorldCon) is the annual convention of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS) which is held in a different city each year since 1939.
